General Fee Information
Korean Won fees must be directly deposited into account #630-005099-167 at the Korea Exchange Bank, Suwon Young Tong Branch, Korea.
U.S. dollars fees must be directly deposited into account #650-005267-589 at the Korea Exchange Bank, Suwon Young Tong Branch, Korea.
A family experiencing payment issues should contract the finance office and schedule a conference to discuss the possibilities of a deferred payment plan.
Early Fee Payment / Withdrawl Prior to Start of the School Year / Returning Student
- Parents wishing to pay the entire annual fee by April 15, 2009, will receive a 2% discount on the yearly rate.
- All first semester tuition and fees for returning students must be paid by May13, 2009 to secure a seat, confirm registration and schedule classes. All second semester tuition and fees must be paid by November 18, 2009 to secure a seat, confirm registration and schedule classes.
- Students admitted to GSIS before or during summer vacation prior to the new school year are required to pay tuition and fees within the first week of acceptance. A student admitted into GSIS after the new school year has begun, is required to pay tuition and fees prior to the first day of attending class.
- 1st semester Fees are due May 13, 2009.
- Any persons paying for 1st Semester between May 28- July 15 will be assessed a (6%) six percent late fee on all unpaid fees, between July 15- September 16 will be assessed an (8%) eight percent late fee on all unpaid fees, between September 16- November 17 will be assessed a (10%) ten percent late fee on all unpaid fees.
- 2nd Semester Fees are due November 18, 2009.
- Any persons paying for 2nd Semester between December 3- February 17 will be assessed a (6%) six percent late fee on all unpaid fees, between February 18- April 14 will be assessed an (8%) eight percent late fee on all unpaid fees, between April 15- June 4 will be assessed a (10%) ten percent late fee on all unpaid fees.
- Parents of students who notify the school of changes in enrollment plans between April 15th - July 31st are entitled to a 90% refund of total annual tuition and 100% bus fee.
- Parents of students who notify the school of changes in enrollment plans between August 1 - August 9, 2009 are entitled to an 85% refund of the total annual fee payment.
- Parents of students who notify the school of changes in enrollment plans by October 16, 2009 are entitled to an 70% refund of the total annual fee payment.
- Returning students are exempt from payment of the capital fee. However, all other fees are applicable to returning students as well as new students.
Late Admission Student Fee Policies
- Students who are admitted at anytime during the first quarter of the school year are required to pay full tuition and fees for all services requested.
- Students who are admitted at anytime during the second quarter of the school year will pay 75% of the annual tuition and fees for all services requested with the exception of the registration, application, and capital fees which require 100% payment.
- Students who are admitted at anytime during the third quarter of the school year will pay the full second semester tuition and fees or 50% if the annual tuition and fees for all services requested with the exception of the registration, application, and capital fees which require 100% payment.
- Students who are admitted at anytime during the fourth quarter of the school year will pay 30% of the annual tuition and fees for all services requested with the exception of the registration, application, and capital fees which require 100% payment.
Early WIthdrawl of Students Fee Policy
- Students who withdraw during the first quarter of the school year will be eligible for a refund of 20% of 1st semester and 100% of 2nd semester tuition, boarding, transportation, and lunch fees on a percentage of days left in the semester or year. There is no refund for any other fees.
- Students who withdraw during the second quarter of the school year will be refunded 40% of the 2nd semester tuition, boarding, transportation and lunch fees on a percentage of days left in the semester or year. There is no refund for any other fees.
- Students who withdraw during the third quarter of the school year will be eligible for a refund of 20% of the 2nd semester tuition, boarding, transportation and lunch fees on a percentage of days left in the semester or year. There is no refund for any other fees.
- Students who withdraw during the fourth quarter of the school year are not eligible for any refunds.
- In extreme circumstances that result in a large number of withdrawal or school closure such as war, civil strife, labor unrest or extreme weather conditions that cannot be reasonably anticipated or controlled, GSIS reserves the right to deny refunds. Additionally tuition and fees unpaid will be due and payable.
- Refunds are mailed or given to parents only after all withdrawal documentation are presented, signed and cleared by the finance department. Requests in writing for refunds, with proper clearance, will be processed and mailed within 30-days.
- Generally refunds will be made in Korean Won unless the entire tuition was initially paid in U.S. dollars.
